Company Profile

This global expert in the Food and Travel sector is seeking a Marketing Assistant to provide day to day support to the Communications team within the Global Headquarters in Weybridge. The organisation has built up an enviable reputation for working with very high profile partner brands across the arena of food and beverages, indeed it has operations across some 32 countries!

As a Marketing Assistant you will be responsible for providing support across both the internal and external communications area. The role is very varied, so will suit someone who is able to juggle a multitude of tasks and projects ranging from marketing, administrative support and communications.

Typical projects might include CRM customer database management, PR media monitoring, organising collateral for events, booking keynote speakers, involvement in the social media strategy for the company (includes Facebook, Twitter etc) and ad hoc communications projects to support the team.
As the Communications Department provides support across the company you may be involved in liaising with offices in Europe and across the globe, so an understanding of cultural differences and managing your time will be key assets in the role.

The role

The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Communications Managers to ensure the corporate messaging is disseminated to the marketplace at all opportunities. You will also be part of the team that ensures the corporate and international country websites are kept fresh, relevant and updated.

Ideally you will be a graduate who has already spent a year out in industry and is now seeking that first communications opportunity! You may have worked within a B2B or B2C sector, (if you have knowledge of the food, travel and beverage sector this would ideal, but is not essential). You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, being confident in writing copy for online content, editing of PR and marketing communications material.

You may also be involved in the management and briefing of third party suppliers including PR Consultants, marketing agencies and printers. Within the PR remit, you will be required to monitor trade press and identify any PR or media opportunities for the business to leverage from a marketing perspective or communications angle. Indeed if you have also worked with Social Media tools this could prove to be valuable in reaching the target audience using a mix of media channels.

The person

You will possess excellent relationship building skills and ensure that clients are aware of any conferences and events planned, and they are aware of the latest marketing literature available to support their brand.
This Marketing Assistant role will suit someone who is organised, can work under their own initiative, take responsibility and work to tight deadlines.
This is a dynamic multi cultural organisation, offering a team environment at global HQ. There is scope to progress and the opportunity to work and learn in an environment with talented professionals in their sector.
